The brief was to create a modern, family-friendly garden with a wow factor, while remaining practical and low-maintenance.

The existing garden was wide but shallow, with an imposing boundary fence and raised planting beds that limited how the space could be used.

The new design reimagines the garden as a series of connected spaces for outdoor living and entertaining. The raised deck was removed and replaced with a more generous, ground-level entertaining area, with a louvred pergola providing year-round shelter. A feature fireplace adds a focal point and a cosy space for relaxed evenings outdoors.

Positioned closest to the kitchen, the entertaining and dining areas flow naturally from the house, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor living. Along the previously underused side return, a simple wooden arch and swing introduces a playful element for family fun.

The concept design included a 2D masterplan, 3D perspective drawings and a mood board, giving the client a clear sense of how the garden would look and feel.
